Now I Know

Today, my pastor preach a sermon titled: "Passion: Pleasing God" based on Matthew 3:13-17. What really caught me was his first point...

The Primary Purpose for Our Existence is to Please God

Wow! Now that is worth knowing, remembering, and believing! This is the answer... even though I knew how I got here, where I came from and even why I am here, I had never thought about pleasing God as my primary purpose for existing. It's so simple, yet so deep. In this day and time people are searching for validation. They look to friends, family, bars, churches, drugs, sex, anywhere they can to keep from looking to God. Why this is SO difficult I'll never understand. What I DO understand is that if I seek to do please God in everything I do and say then I am fulfilling my primary purpose for existing on this earth.

"Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things and for thy pleasure they existed and were created." Revelation 4:11 (KJV)
